Together We Tell: An Evening of Storytelling

Our stories unite us, our stories connect us, our stories help create an emotional bond so we can gain a deeper knowledge of someone else’s experience.

The Theater Project is excited to announce a new series we are calling “Together We Tell: An Evening of Storytelling”. This is a devised piece of theatre created by local artists that combine their talents to create a worthwhile monologue that needs to be shared. We have spent so much time apart we wanted to reconnect us, rebuild our community and recall a simpler time when we shared our tales.

Chris Kinney:
Storyteller

Chris Kinney (He/Him) is a lifelong practitioner of the enjoyment of life residing in Auburn, Maine. He has recently performed at The Corner, LA Arts, Lewiston “Ground Hog Day” and “U.F.O.”. He has also done Stand-Up Comedy “Living Life Literally”. Chris enjoys time with Family, Friends, his cat Trouble, and his dog Trixie.

Mackenzie Peacock:
Storyteller

Mackenzie Peacock (she/her) is an actor and educator from Lewiston and is excited to be returning to The Theater Project! This is her second time performing in the Together We Tell series and you may have seen her as Myrhinna/Woman 2 in Lysistrata. Other recent credits include Janet Brown in Anatomies (Lakewood Theater), Claire Ganz in Rumors (Chocolate Church Arts), and Patches in Three Little Kittens (Maddy's Theatre). She is also a company actor with Mystery 207. When she is not acting, she teaches acting, film, and communication courses at Central Maine Community College. She would like to thank her fiance, Mike, for always supporting her, and providing her dog, Peter, comfort when she's away at rehearsals.

Tarra Haskell:
Storyteller 

Tarra Haskell is a writer, performer and director out of Portland,ME.

Six:
Storyteller

If he could, Six would eat a hamburger and french fries every single day with a giant glass of fizzy anything. And a pint of ice cream and beer for dessert. Six loves to tell stories about the discomforts of finding diamonds in the rough, and he has spent a lifetime preoccupied with turning learning into an embodied, purposeful way of living. He holds uh Ed.D in Philosophical Foundations of Education and loves working with creatives, luminaries, and anyone willing to pull the hair out of the sink.

Chris DeFilipp:
Storyteller

Chris DeFilipp (he/they) is a Portland, Maine-based multi-hyphenate theater artist (director/designer/playwright), graphic designer, and all-around nerd. When not freelancing or creating, they moonlight as a House Manager at Portland Stage and are the founder of Chimera Theatre Collective. They are honored to get to tell a story with The Theater Project for this fantastic evening of storytelling: one that is all too real, yet feels incredibly made up! www.chrisdefilipp.com

Julie Middleton:
Director

Julie Middleton (she, her, hers) is delighted to be participating in a second round of Together We Tell.  She recently stage managed Lysistrata and is excited to be working with the talented Mackenzie P again and to have an opportunity to meet and work with the gifted Tarra H. Julie lives in Brunswick with Steve and 2 fine felines. Her favorite days are spent in museums, on the beach or visiting w/ M and C.

Meghan McGuire (She/Her) is a writer, director, and producer who grew up taking every possible class and performing in every possible play at The Theater Project. Rebecca “Sparkie” Ankener:
Storyteller 

Rebecca Ankener (or, Sparkie, as she prefers to be known), is older than the hills and just appearing in a more youthful format to encourage people to relax and have fun around her. Sparkie is a self described artist, a mystic, a visionary, and an author of many unpublished paragraphs.  [applause] Laughter is the best form of communication, because both parties get to enjoy themselves; but Sparkie can be deeply serious as well. Whatever the occasion calls for.

Corrie Legge:
Actor

Corrie (She/Her) is over the moon to be returning to The Theater Project stage. A young company alum, she is now a multi-passionate actor, voiceover artist, and creative coach. With a passion for storytelling, she has left her mark in indie films, television, animation, video games, audiobooks, and more. She's also a filmmaker with several short films under her belt, and multiple feature scripts in the works! Corrie invites you to join her in celebrating the joy of performance at The Theater Project, where her creative journey comes full circle!

Julie Middleton:
Director

Julie (She/Her/Hers) is delighted to work with the amazing Corrie Legge for Together We Tell. Her introduction to TTP was the thrill of Stage Managing Brian Daly’s Squeeze Me! for its world premiere this summer. Prior to arriving in Brunswick, Julie was the drama director at Hebron Academy and Board Member/Director for OHMPAA in Norway. She thanks her talented sister Lucy Poland, TTP, and hopes you enjoy the holiday memories! 

Mackenzie Peacock: Actor

Mackenzie (She/Her) is an actor from Lewiston and is excited to perform a christmas story for you! Some recent roles include Janet Brown (Anatomies, Lakewood Theater), Claire Ganz (Rumors, Chocolate Church Arts), and Patches (Three Little Kittens, Maddy's Theatre). She is also a company actor with Mystery 207. She would like to thank her fiance, Mike, for always supporting her, as well as his family for inspiring tonight's monologue.

Lee K. Paige:
Director

Together We Tell represents Lee’s (She/Her) 43rd year working with The Theater Project. Loving her time basking in the lights or contributing behind them is her ‘sometimes life’ now. Being ‘Grammy’ is a full time adventure.

Morgan Callan Rogers:
Actor

Morgan Callan Rogers (She/Her) is an author and, on occasion, an actress. She has worked within the Theater Project Building since she was first cast in a block of shows during the summer of 1980. Wherever you are Al, big love and thank you.
